Container transport? That’s how we do it.

You want smooth-running logistics services. Rightly and almost obviously so, you want to be able to trust an efficient, and consequently affordable, organisation. With the rise of (sea) container transport via water

to and from the port of Antwerp, it was a logical step to start offering container transport. It has been operational since early 2016… and was immediately successful. Road transport is fast and enables to deliver to very specific locations.

Your needs, of course, remain paramount. Always!

As a newcomer, we must do better…

…that is the advantage of a newcomer: being able to avoid the mistakes of others more easily. Based on a thorough and lengthy experience in bitumen transport, and good personnel at the planning and administration departments, we have been complying with the highest requirements for a long time already. That makes us not quite a newcomer, of course. After a thorough study of this market, we have been operational in the (sea) container segment since 1 February 2016. We started with 20 vehicles, of which 10 are equipped with a power supply for refrigerated containers.

We also have the ability to announce ourselves in advance at all large terminals, which provides significant time savings. The port of Antwerp is greatly expanding into (sea) container transport. So we are not too early, and certainly not too late.

In short:

  • All drivers are ADR trained
  • Verduyn Group is SQAS certified ►
  • Adequate (ISO) accounting and reporting
  • Regular certified refresher training for staff
  • Pre announcement at all terminals provides time savings

All vehicles have:

  • A multifunctional container chassis for ALL types of (sea) containers (20′ 30′ 40′ and 45′, DV, Reefer, Open Top and flat -in Cove-)
  • A TRS unit (auto Genset) for temperature control
  • The latest on-board computers for current position determination and to follow load and unload processes
  • On-board scanners for rapid processing of cargo documents and CMRs

Container transport via road has its advantages.

Container transport by sea, inland navigation or rail is ideal for longer distances. For more fine-grained and quicker transport, the road is a great solution. Provided that it is well organised and planned. That is what we are going to focus on.

Delivery areas per 2016
We now provide the distribution of containers between Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and France. And of course, we will keep on expanding this.

Client-focused since 1934.

1934
Three generations ago, Aris Verduyn started with sand, and later bitumen transport.        He saw it had a future… and he was right. His business grew steadily. In 1965, his son Joop Verduyn took over. He pursued the growth and opened an office in Belgium in order to serve Northwest Europe even better

1997
his son Arjo took over. He led the company into the modern age. Belgium was considerably strengthened and became the hub for traffic, planning and administration for North-western Europe. The headquarters remained in Hoofddorp. In 2007, an office was successfully opened in Constanta, Romania, complete with planning and administration. Central and Eastern Europe are now served from there.

2016
Due to the expansion of the Port of Antwerp and the increase in container transportation, we started offering this service in early 2016. We gave the new service a good start with 20 vehicles, of which ten have a power supply for refrigerated transport. We expect to achieve significant growth in that segment.
